Valentine's Day

Today is also the Feast Day of St. Valentine, a Priest, martyred in 269 at Rome and was buried on the Flaminian Way. He is the Patron Saint of affianced couples, bee keepers, engaged couples, epilepsy, fainting, greetings, happy marriages, love, lovers, plague, travelers, young people. He is represented in pictures with birds and roses.

You bring us joy by

January 22nd - A Special Day of Prayer and Pennance

Prayer to End Abortion

Lord God, I thank you today for the gift of my life,

And for the lives of all my brothers and sisters.

I know there is nothing that destroys more life than abortion,

Yet I rejoice that you have conquered death

by the Resurrection of Your Son.

I am ready to do my part in ending abortion.

Today I commit myself

Never to be silent,

Never to be passive,

Never to be forgetful of the unborn.

I commit myself to be active in the pro-life movement,

And never to stop defending life

Until all my brothers and sisters are protected,

And our nation once again becomes

A nation with liberty and justice

Not just for some, but for all,

Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Let us then joyfully celebrate

the coming of our salvation

and redemption. 

Let us celebrate the festive day

on which he who is the great

and eternal day

came from the great and

endless day of eternity

into our own short day of time.

Peace

Even during times of war, there's also time of peace, peace that comes from believing in God and knowing He is always with us. Peace that comes from trusting in the One whose birthday we will celebrate on December 25th.  Peace which is always in our souls waiting to blossom forth and fill the world with a fragrance and surety that all is well ... The Advent Season - Mary's Season

This is really Mary's season, that time when she carried God within her womb.  The Advent Season is a time to turn to our Blessed Mother and invoke her prayers for all of our needs.  No one is closer to God then Mary, no one has a greater ability to intercede for us then Mary.

Hail Mary, full of Grace.

Advent

A season of grace and anticipation.

The journey begins that will
bring us closer to Jesus. 

Teach me, Lord, to make
the most of this season of grace.
