Illumine our eyes

that we may discern your glory

in the many works of your hand.

Christ, rising sun, warm us with your rays.

Christ is the sun that never sets,

the true light that shines

on every man.

Prayer

We have time and prayer backwards. We think time determines prayer, but prayer determines time. We think our lack of time is the cause of our lack of prayer, but our lack of prayer is the cause of our lack of time.

Good Shepherd,

you have given life

and light today, help us to be

grateful for these gifts.

You are precious in God's eyes.

In all people reveal

the victory of your cross.
